What Requirements Are There For English Teachers Overseas
Teaching English overseas is a wonderful opportunity to travel around the world and help someone who needs to learn the language. However, there are a few requirements for anyone considering venturing into this field. First, a person who would like to teach English abroad must be older than 18 years of age. All companies who hire International English teachers will have this requirement. Secondly, educational requirements vary with each employer, but many of them require a Bachelor’s degree. However, the Bachelor’s degree could be in any field.
The TEFL course for teaching abroad must also be taken. It is course that only last from one to two months and it certifies the individual to teach abroad. Also, in order to travel abroad an English teacher will need to have the proper paperwork to leave the country and enter a new one. A U.S. citizen must acquire a passport. Travel is not possible without a passport. This document will allow for a United States citizen to going into another country. Residents of other countries will need to obtain the proper visa or paperwork allowing them to work in a new country.
Other than those things, the only other things required are determination and hard work.
